We have how many sweat glands?

There are two to four million sweat glands distributed all over our bodies. The majority of them are “eccrine” sweat glands, which are found in large numbers on the soles of the feet, the palms, the forehead and cheeks, and in the armpits.

Why do we sweat?

We sweat to maintain a certain body temperature. Have you noticed that the body sweats more when we have a fever? This is the bodies way of saying “Hey, you are overheating here, let’s fix this team”. Aren’t our bodies amazing? This rise another important question though, “why do some people sweat even when they aren’t hot?” There are a few reasons for this. Some people who excessively sweat have sweat glands stuck in the on position. This is commonly known as primary hyperhidrosis.
